We decided that rather than fight the rain and mud at the target berms that we would cancel the Military and Lever Action match for Sunday the 24th.

“The Dakota Rough Riders will sponsor our annual Open House at the Indoor Range on Saturday, December 31, 2022. Time of the event is 6pm – 9pm. There will be a potluck supper and shooting from the 50 foot line plus some different target games. The firing line will open at 6pm. Members and Non-Members are invited to attend. In addition, Sam and Tom will be set up to take 2023 membership renewals and new memberships. Gate keys (2023) will be issued for the outdoor range. Sam and Tom will be there from 4pm – 6pm. If we have enough time – we will also do outdoor range certifications for new members for the outdoor range. Please join us for a fun evening at the indoor range on New Year’s Eve. “Additional Weather Cancellations – Due to the storm this week – shooting activities scheduled at the indoor range are CANCELLED for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (December 14, 15 and 16). In addition, the USPSA match will be held on Saturday (December 17) – but the match will start at 1:00pm. We will try to have the parking lot cleaned on Saturday morning. thank you BMRPA Board”

The Match Program for the Military/Lever Action Sillhouett Match has been updated and expanded to give more definition to the rifle qualification requirements and to describe the course of fire better to those who have not participated in the match. We have taken an idea from the 22 BPCR match and invited those who want to shoot, but don’t have a rifle that meets the catagory qualification, ( yet ) to come shoot in a non-compliant classification. So take a look at the new program which can be found on the events calendar, and get ready for summer.

The indoor range will be closed today. Normal activities should resume tomorrow once the parking lot has been plowed. Please check the website before leaving in case unforseen circumstances force us to keep the range closed for a longer period of time. Thank you for your understanding.

December 13 was our 2nd match of the indoor season. We had 27 shooters from Bismarck, Jamestown, Dickinson, Grand Forks, Minot, Napoleon, and Fargo. The overall match winner was BMRPA member Del Ray Bergan. This was the first match where we did not use paper scoring. The Practiscore software app was used. Scores were entered on to the master device, a Samsung Galaxy Tablet connected to a internet-less router, which allowed all other shooters to network in and get live scoring updates during the match. This coming Saturday, December 28, offers a great opportunity for members who want to cumulate hours with your choice of working indoors or outdoors. At the indoor range (Johnson Family Marksmanship Center) Work is planned to start at 9:00 a.m. Lights will be hanged at the 10 meter line (which is down range of the 50 foot regular firing line). We have a couple of ladders at the range. However, we could use a couple more volunteers with ladders. Lights will be hung from the ceiling (10 foot height) so an 8 foot ladder would work nicely. At the outdoor range (Fried Family Marksmanship Complex) Starting at 10:00 a.m. Work planned: Finish sheeting the clubhouse walls, dig the silhouettes out of the snow for the next match.
